One look at his career penalty minutes tells you that Dennis Polonich is a tough guy, but one look at the captain’s “C” he wore as a Detroit Red Wing tells you he could also play the game.
“Polo” brings the same leadership qualities he displayed on the ice to his work as a consultant with CMG Sports where he recruits and mentors young players using the hard-won experience he gained during his playing career, and the twelve years he spent as a coach and manager.
In addition to helping young players with their careers, Dennis is also very community-minded.
“I like giving back now… and not just monetarily. I enjoy helping and passing on knowledge. Knowledge is powerful and I don't mind sharing. I do tons of charity work. I like giving back!”
Dennis lives in Calgary with his wife Angie. They have two daughters; Lauren who is a nurse here in Calgary, and Jade who lives in Arizona with her husband, former Edmonton Eskimo Ron McClendon and their two year old daughter, Jaysha.
