A physical defenseman who always took the body on opposing forwards, rugged Ric Nattress was a valuable member of the Calgary Flames Stanley Cup winning team in 1989.
Now living in Toronto, the gregarious Nattress holds forth about NHL hockey on the radio hosting Leafs Nation Pre- and Post-Game on Sportsnet Fan 590. The big hitter in the corners turned big hit on the radio sees only positives for the next generation on hockey’s horizon.
“In my eyes, hockey’s the best sport there is. Not just the NHL, but what hockey does for youth and how it inspires confidence. No one's perfect, but some of us are closer than others.”
Always game to give back to his community, Ric laces them up for a lot of alumni games to benefit a wide variety of children's charities.
